The Vogelmorn Sessions - Vogelmorn Hall

Friends of Vogelmorn invite you to join us once again as our Vogelmorn Sessions gig series goes rollicking along into it’s 3rd incarnation!

This one will be a sit-down, cabaret-style event, much like the first, but with potential for a bit of a dance floor to develop in the later stages.

Providing the musical entertainment we have two contrasting but complementary musical acts:

The Wooden Box Band
With many threads of folk and country, writers Paddy Burgin, Jessie Moss and Emily Clemett write songs for Aotearoa’s landscape and its people. The Appalachian Mountains and Southern Alps are heard in tales of Blue-collar Petone, Janet Frame’s Oamaru and the Waimakariki River. Goose bump harmonies and runaway instrumental solos. Check out a sample here: https://youtu.be/FOK3p74v0gg (As well as a band performance, member Paddy Burgin is an in demand luthier (http://www.burginguitars.co.nz/)

Then later on, join Pōneke’s must-see Ingrid and the Ministers for a mind-expanding journey through the mysterious, raw and ultimately uplifting landscapes of love, loss and redemption. Their psychedelic “frock” music weaves heart-aching intimacy, 60s tinged psychedelia and full-on noisy rock & roll. After an interrupted tour in celebration of their debut album "Kill The Sights" (vinyl available) they are really excited to enjoy a lovely night with you in Ingrid's home suburb! Check them out here: https://youtu.be/nfcNEPfmIEA

DAMASCUSok will be cooking up some different delectable Syrian food offerings this time - a buffet-style approach with meat and vegan options available.
