How & Why to Shop at a Zero Waste Grocer-a guided tour of Hopper

Keen to reduce your household rubbish but unsure where to start? Heard of zero waste stores & people who get their groceries from bulk bins, but feel awkward trying this yourself?

Maybe you've seen internet blogs or articles about people who live without a rubbish bin & you'd like to know if this really is possible. Or perhaps you're interested to know if it's worthwhile going to all the effort - does bulk bin shopping actually = a reduction in waste overall?

If these are some of the questions running through your head, this could be the event for you! Join Waste Free Sarah and The Rubbish Trip (who between them have over ten years' experience of waste-free living) for a FREE guided tour of Hopper - Refill, Shop & Café, Wellington's independent zero waste grocer.

Sarah, Hannah and Liam will show you how they navigate a zero waste store, the tools you'll need to nail a waste-free shop, and the kinds of food, toiletries & cleaning products you can concoct from the unpackaged ingredients available.

Hopper's store manager, Ali, will also be present to give an insight into the 'behind the scenes' of a waste free store, and explain the work Hopper does to reduce its own waste footprint (not just the waste it passes on to customers).

There will be TWO tour options, one from 6pm-7pm, the second from 7pm-8pm. The tours are FREE and will be structured, but informal, with lots of opportunities to ask questions!
